NPT Special Events

The Special Events Team manages, develops and promotes a range of events provided by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.  We also run events in partnership with community groups and organisations based in NPT.  Some of these events are listed below:

St David’s Day Concert (March)
Ladies Day (May)
Charity Stalls for Fiesta Day (June)
Search for a Star Talent Competition (June)
Enter the Realm of the Fae (June)
Margam Festival (July)
Christmas Parades in Neath Port Talbot (Nov/Dec)

The Special Events Team support Community Groups who wish to run firework displays in the County Borough in celebration of Guy Fawkes Night.  Eligible Community Groups can apply for grants of up to £500 to organise their own displays.  Groups can find out more about this scheme by contacting the Special Events Team.

The Special Events Team sit on the Board of the Safety Advisory Group – known as SAG.  This group consists of representatives from all of the emergency services – Fire, Police and Ambulance Service, as well as relevant officers from the Council involved in specialist areas eg. Health & Safety, Parks, Environment, Licensing, Traffic, Highways and Structures.  The purpose of the group is to give advice to organisers of outdoor events (held on NPTCBC land) so that they are aware of the best way to deal with certain issues surrounding the planning of their event.  The constant introduction of legislation with regard to such subjects as health and safety, risk assessment, insurance and food hygiene etc., means that the organisers of such events need to be aware of their responsibilities.  Event organisers will be asked to complete a short form supplied by the Special Events Team, and produce risk assessments etc.

Many other departments within Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and lots of community groups and organisations within the County Borough work with The Special Events Team for advice on their own events.  Should you wish to find out more information about these events we can put you in touch with the organisers who will give you more detailed information.  Some of these events include:
