Community Music workshops

CMW is Wales's leading music charity. We believe everyone should have access to music. Music can be educational, informative and empowering, but it should always be enjoyed. Creative music making is central to CMW and its objectives.

CMW can offer workshops, mentoring and community music training across Wales. We work strategically to identify need, delivering projects to give people the opportunity to write, play, record or perform their own music, using trained and experienced community tutors.

We believe strongly in working in partnership.

Film in a day workshop takes students through the whole film-making process from start to finish in a day. The workshop includes an illustrated introduction to film language using classic film; introductions to planning, shooting and editing video. Participants then plan, film and edit a simple sequence which we screen at the end of the day.

Participants are given an introduction in how sound is used and manipulated to create dramatic and believable sound scapes for drama. They then have the chance to create their own short radio play featuring sound FX they have chosen, which could be scary, hilarious, or just plain weird....listen to the Young People's work.

The British DJing and MCing Academy

The British DJ & MC Academy run a range of workshops with young people in Wales teaching them the art of broadcasting, DJ'ing, Radio presenting and hosting. All the young people showed great dedication and commitment and came up with some fantastic radio shows and ideas. It was a pleasure to work with young people from a different area rather than London and they were very gifted and enthusiastic.

Dave Marchant Green Screen and 3D video workshop

We have a team of people who dedicate themselves to their professions covering camera work, large scale projections, performance and sound installations.

Videoartinbox  now undertakes numerous art based audio visual projects which can include showing work at the Royal Academy of Art London, Arts council of Wales commissions, music videos or making videos for PR companies.

Movie school plays a large section of our work whereby we take on various commission based projects working with communities, schools, museums, local authorities, art galleries and project collaborations with other groups.Statement of work by David MarchantMy work embraces technology and also questions it,  touching on current issues of which the 'super information highway' rules. I uses simple, sometimes fun recognizable objects reworking them  to portray complex issues, posing questions about seduction , the blurring of boundaries , manipulation and the loss of the real within our present post modern condition.
