NPTCBC MEASMinority, Ethic, Achievement, Support currently work with schools within Neath Port Talbot to promote diversity and culture. We are involved with identifying Ethnic Minority pupils with English as an Additional Language (EM/EAL) within the authority with the aim of raising attainment and achievement as well as other social skills.
We work with schools, pupils and parents. We also undertake training for staff at primary and secondary sectors to up skill teachers on the pedagogy of working with and teaching EM/EAL pupils. As well as working with schools an important role of MEAS is to work with partner groups and work with different cultures within the community of NPT to promote diversity and build up good working relationships.
MEAS is also a part of The Education Development and Inclusion Service (EDIS) which provides support to schools which encompasses the National Curriculum and assessment, curriculum development, transition arrangements and school department reviews.

Our aim is to reach out to the most disadvantaged children, young people, families and communities in Wales to help ensure that every child has the best possible start in life. We try to ensure that every young person can realise their full potential, whatever the circumstances of their life.
Barnardo’s works with children, young people and families living on the margins of society who are struggling to overcome the disadvantages caused by poverty, abuse and discrimination.
Today we run 88 services across Wales
Barnardo’s believes that it is never too early or too late to offer help to a child or young person in need, and we do not give up.
Children have only one childhood, and the aim of Barnardo’s Cymru is to ensure they make the most of it so that they can build a better future.more about Barnardo's
